Pete & Dougie
The boys are Affenpinschers and probably get asked this on a daily basis. Pete is almost 10 and Dougie 7. Dougie didn’t grow much.
It’s a bit tricky to get past these two when you want to visit the studio they love guarding the space.
Painting digital prints
Marika spends a lot of time researching images of interest. Historic images in her work are out of copyright or represent only a small percentage of the new image, so all of Marika’s representations are legal. Different images are mashed together and repainted to create a new narrative that is unique to Marika. Where a historic image is used in its totality, it is out of copyright; the image is refreshed and given a new lease of life through her art.
All works (except A1 & A0 size) are printed by Marika using archival inks and papers.
